How this is calculated
Ten thousand sessions are simulated in your browser, spin by spin, stopping when the money runs out or the session length is reached. Nothing here is an average dressed up as a prediction: the histogram is the actual spread of where those ten thousand sessions ended.
Winning spins pay a log-normal multiplier, fitted so that the model reproduces both the RTP and the standard deviation of the volatility class you choose. That second number is what most explanations of RTP leave out, and it is the one that decides whether an evening is boring, expensive or memorable.
The mean of these sessions lands close to what the RTP predicts. That is the point of showing the distribution instead: the average is technically right and practically useless, because almost nobody has the average evening.
